The Urban Design Atelier "Post-pandemic Turin. The project in the state of crisis" is proposed as a project investigation on the territory of the metropolitan area of Turin after two years of pandemic crisis. The hypothesis is that the many crises of recent years, starting with the pandemic crisis, have made issues and problems rooted in western cities and territories evident and inescapable.

In this type of investigation, the project is used as an instrument of knowledge of the territory, not only as an organised set of indications or norms that guide its transformation. Through drawings, writings and words, the project measures itself against the specific characteristics of the territory it observes without reducing its complexity, starting with the classic themes of urban planning: living, producing, protecting and coexisting.

A design investigation of this kind is first and foremost an exploration of complex issues that have space at their centre.
