Trasformazione urbana per l’area di ex Scalo Vanchiglia
The former Scalo Vanchiglia district in Turin exhibits a rich tapestry of urban life, blending residential and productive activities, punctuated by empty parcels and bordered by the Monumental Cemetery. The project begins by examining the existing urban fabrics in the surrounding environment, discerning recurrent typologies and patterns. Gathering historical maps, immersing in archival documents, and respecting local constraints are pivotal steps in crafting the initial diagrammatic framework for the project. Thus, the former railway site's significance re-emerges on the ground, prominently accentuated by a bracketed strip. In this strip, the juxtaposition of different episodes echoes the paratactical arrangement of written prose.
