Restoration of East attic of Valentino Castle
At Castello del Valentino, where the Savoy legacy meets modern academia, our project reimagines the east attic. Inspired by Leopardi's "L'Infinito," we view the castle as a poetic boundary—a hedge between river and city, past and present. Our challenge: to intervene without disturbing this profound metaphor. Through meticulous study and innovative design, we've transformed structural constraints into opportunities. Concealed spaces become characters in a new narrative, with glass boxes and bridges breathing life into forgotten realms. Like the castle's literary-inspired interiors, our design weaves architecture and poetry, turning the false facade into Leopardi's symbolic hedge.
