Differenze - Distanze
The Differences - Distances atelier explored, through these two notions, the complexity of inhabiting the contemporary city: city of differences, of pluralities of bodies, values and meanings in rhythmically inhabited and suspended spaces, gaps between multiple times and uses.
Through five themes-places of proximity, perception and fragility of space, micro climatic and atmospheric differences, generative soils-investigated at different scales and design explorations in international contexts, design strategies and prefigurations were founded for the different selected building blocks within the Aurora neighborhood in Turin.
The goal was to reread the space through the triple reading of space-time and users that transform it and make it differently inhabited each time and to bring this elastic tension, within the project revealing its potential to make itself flexible, adaptable capable therefore, with the related devices, to become an open process, able to amplify the relationships between users, new uses over time (i.e., to enter into tension and dynamic relationship) offering temporality and temporality, different rhythms and intensities.
