Atelier D

The teaching activity of the Restoration module aims to provide the methodological and operative tools necessary for a correct approach to the restoration project, recovery, renovation and reuse of historical buildings. Advanced tools for architectural modelling module (Geomatics) addresses the set of knowledge and practical skills necessary to understand and document an architecture being the material evidence of a cultural value. The proposed Restoration topic is the XXth century architecture and the case study chosen is the Social Services building, part of the Olivetti manufacturing plant in Ivrea. The Geomatics contribution was intended to integrate and check the geometric dataset available from the archives. Students had the possibility to chose a specific line of reasearch with respect of the Restoration topic and chose a geomatics technique best fitting the project needs.
