Transition Portraits. Scenarios of transformation along Dora River.
The Urban Design Atelier "Transition Portraits. Scenarios of Transformation along the Dora" is proposed as a design survey of the Turin area that tries to investigate legacies and strengths of the great season of post-Fordist urban transformation that began in the 1990s, hypothesizing that this interest could be at the basis of the revival of a renewed urban agenda for Turin, also in light of a new season of important public funding related to the PNRR. During the workshop, insights were raised that reflected on the modes of transformation, investigating the possible contradictions between reconstructing new urban scenarios and preserving established urban characters. In this kind of inquiry, the project is used as a tool for knowledge of the territory, not only as an organized set of directions or norms that guide its transformation.
