Dopo lo scalo-fabbrica ferroviaria. Rigenerare il Vallino, Torino

The focus of the Atelier concerns the transformation of a vast urban area in the center of the city of Turin to be interpreted as an opportunity for regeneration - environmental, economic and socio-cultural - in a broader network of public and private spaces and services.

The SCALO VALLINO, behind the Porta Nuova railway station, is already a peripheral, railroad and industrial area, whose divestment is producing important transformation interventions in tertiary, research, commercial and residential prospects.

The didactic project is therefore placed within a real urban process in progress, of which acquiring knowledge and ability to evaluate in interdisciplinary terms, to dialogue both with the traces and pre-existences of the past, with the present "actants" (inhabitants, clients, stakeholders, urban programs, existing constraints, etc.) and with the instances of new functions and sustainability of regeneration, paying attention to the openness of the site as a public and inclusive space.
